Event 20 – Institution of the Lord’ Supper

Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:17-20; John 13:31-32

^J When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.

^K While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; ^L This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, ^K gave thanks and offered it to ^M them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you” ^K and they all drank from it. “This is the blood of the ^L new covenant ^K which is poured out ^M for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

^K He said to them, “I tell you the truth, ^M I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until the day when I drink it anew with you in my father’s kingdom.”
