Event 2 – A Fruitless Fig Tree

Matthew 21:18-19; Mark 11:12-14

^K The next day, ^M early in the morning as he was ^K leaving Bethany ^M on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing ^K in the distance a fig tree ^M by the road ^M in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. ^K Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.”

And his disciples heard him say it. ^M Immediately the tree withered.
