Event 7 – Christ’s First Tour of Galilee

Matthew 4:23-25, Mark 135-39, Luke 4:42-44

K Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else–to the nearby villages–so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.”

L The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.”

K So he traveled throughout M Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people K and driving out demons. M News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them. Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
